BENCHMARK BOOTCAMP-- 4th Quarter Review Guide

The child: 

• Knows uppercase letters A-Z

• Knows lowercase letters a-z

• Knows sounds for letters A-Z

• Read the following type of sentence: The black cat ran to the bus.

• Can write the following type of sentence: A dog went to the jet. (capital letter, finger spaces, end punctuation)

• Can solve addition problems up to 10 (ex: 2+5=7)

• Can solve subtraction problems up to 10. (ex: 10-8=2)

• Knows the following sight words:  a, is, I, the, us, of, on, in, no, for, put, to, like, said, you, was

• Can rhyme (ex: house-mouse   run-fun)

• Can count by 10s to 100

• Can count by 2s to 20

• Can count by 5s to 100

• Can count by 1s to 100

• Can write all uppercase letters correctly

• Can write all lowercase letters correctly

• Can decode the following: (examples: picnic, jump, snack, stomp, skip)

• Can identify basic shapes

• Can write these types of words from just listening to them: nap, vest, plum (No tricky vowel pairings or silent letters etc.)

• Basic clock knowledge…to the hour. 

Testing will take place from May 9- 17. Please review with your child so we are sure to get the best assessment possible for him/her.
